A new regional manager for the UK, Ireland and Europe has been named by Malaysia Airlines.
Adrian Keating has more than 17 years of international aviation experience, and moves to the role from Etihad Airways.
Keating has also worked for easyJet, Reed & Mackay and British Airways.
He fills a position that has been vacant for more than six months and joins as the airline continues a turn-around plan designed to lift it out of the red by 2018 following the double MH370 and MH17 tragedies of 2014.
Keating will oversee the strategic leadership of all commercial aspects for the UK, Ireland and Europe with a focus on driving sales and revenue performance.
The airline’s chief commercial officer Arved von zur Muehlen said: “I am thrilled that Adrian will be joining the Malaysia Airlines team. He brings with him exactly the experience and knowledge we require to develop our long term commercial strategy for the UK, Ireland and Europe.”
Keating added: “It will be a great privilege to lead the team and I’m looking forward to working with our industry partners to further strengthen our relationships and provide a collaborative and partnership approach to grow the airline’s business in this very important region.”
