London and New York City are this year’s most popular international and domestic destinations for Christmas travel by Americans.
London is followed by San Juan, Cancun, Tokyo, Paris, Santiago, Puerto Vallarta, Manila, Santo Domingo and Bangkok, according to a review of almost one million plans made by Americans for travel over Christmas by insurance firm Allianz Global Assistance.
The UK capital topped international booking intentions for travel between December 20-28 at 43,952, followed by San Juan in Puerto Rico and Cancun at almost 37,000.
The top US domestic destinations after New York are Los Angeles, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, San Francisco, Honolulu, Boston, Denver, Miami and Newark.
Booking intent for travel to New York was 113,326 with Los Angeles at 93,468 and Orlando at 86,811.
