Path to career: Started with Thomas Cook in 1965 before joining Escombe McGrath Travel in 1970. Appointed manager of Cunard Crusader World Travel in 1972. In 1973 became general manager business travel of six branches. Joined Middle East Airlines in 1974 as sales representative before taking a similar position with Gulf Air in 1976. Returned to Middle East Airlines in 1979 as senior sales representative. Joined Ramada Hotels in 1983 as sales manager UK and Ireland. Promoted to director of sales and then to director business travel Europe/Middle East/Africa ten years later. Took up current role in 1997.
