AIRTOURS will launch a new brand for its airline if the acquisition of First Choice is agreed by shareholders and the competition authorities.
But Airtours deputy managing director Richard Carrick said there is unlikely to be any widespread shake-up of brands. “Many of the brands complement each other,” he said.
Although he refused to rule out retaining either Airtours International or First Choice’s Air 2000, Carrick added: “Air 2000 is not a forward thinking name and we need an airline where we can switch capacity as we get more brands.”
It is thought putting all First Choice’s passengers on Airtours-branded aircraft could damage the First Choice brand.
Carrick said brands would be reviewed but stressed it was unlikely there would be wholesale changes.
