Agents’ opinions on the conference
“I thought the conference was very informative but I have always been impressed by Advantage conferences. The best session has to be the one about the meaning of independence. Cresta’s Steve Kimber was right to say we are not true independents whether franchisees or not, we are all directionally selling to some degree.”
David Balson, RTW Travel Consultants, Dartford
“I found it interesting because a lot of the things were explained to us as franchisees. I appreciated the talk Ed Sims did, explaining how the message had not been put across well because that has been a common worry among not just agents but other suppliers to Advantage.”
Martin Pilnick, Pilnicks Travel Service, Malvern
“It has given me more insight into the Airtours franchise and clarified one or two concerns about sales targets and what was expected of us as franchisees.”
Judith Radcliffe, Walkers Travel Agency, Cheadle
“I came here apprehensive about my decision to be a franchisee but after the conference I have come to the conclusion that I have done the right thing. Things are changing in the industry and we have to change with them. Peter Shanks was very good and persuasive.”
Eileen Bridge, Supreme Travel, Hadleigh in Essex
“Peter Shanks was very interesting and plausible. It was a difficult decision to go into the franchise so it was good to feel much happier about it. Norman Gage’s business travel session was also very interesting.”
Rosslyn Dachtler, Suncity Travel, Carshalton
