Sixt to pay up in Budget dispute

BUDGET Rent A Car International has been awarded millions of pounds worth of damages against Germany’s Sixt after a dispute over licensee agreements.


A Munich court ruled Budget was within its rights to end its licensee agreement with the German car-rental company last May because it had violated the franchise contract with the company. For two years after the termination of the agreement, Sixt continued using Budget trademark without authority for which it will now have to pay damages that Budget says “will run into millions” .
