Cherokee Indian Reservation: homelands of the Cherokee featuring a museum, village, and arts and crafts outlets.


Wright Brothers National Memorial: site of the first powered flight by Wilbur and Orville Wright, located at Devil Hills on the Outer Banks.


Biltmore Estate: created by George Vanderbilt in 1895, it features America’s largest private house in 8,000 acres in the mountains near Asheville where visitors can explore gardens, walking trails and a winery.
