BESTWestern and Consort Hotels have announced the next stage of their management restructure following the decision to merge the consortia.
Consort national sales manager David Cameron has been named head of corporate sales, while Best Western head of sales Tim Walsh has chosen to leave the group.
Alan Palmer, who was Best Western reservations systems manager, has taken the role of head of reservations and systems for the newly merged consortium. Mike Davis, who was in the equivalent position at Consort, has taken voluntary redundancy.
Best Western marketing manager leisure Jennie Brookes has become head of leisure marketing and the consortium’s marketing manager corporate, Andy Craddock, has been appointed as head of corporate marketing.
Travel trade positions will be announced shortly and the process of recruiting staff for each of the new departments has now begun.
The new group will take on the Best Western name and will be fully merged by January 2000. It will be based in York, the home of Consort’s existing head office.
