British Midland to review commission scheme


ABRITISH Midland team is working on restructuring the airline’s commission payments.



The new system is expected to be in place next winter, once a review is carried out in September.



Group managing director Austin Reid said lessons have been learned from other airlines to ensure the carrier’s payments are simple.



He said some systems have been so complicated nobody, let alone agents, understood them.



However, Reid warned agents not all of them will be happy with the airline’s final package as it is impossible to accommodate a range of different retailers.



n British Midland has launched its second 1999 seat sale. Fares lead in at ú49 return on domestic routes, rising to ú199 for longer flights.



The offer ends on May 1 and covers travel up to June 26.
