Fred Olsen introduces coach service

FREDOlsen Cruise Lines has introduced a nationwide coach pick-up service for passengers.

The service covers 29 departure points around the country, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Swansea, and offers connections with every sailing by Black Watch and Black Prince out of Dover.

The company claims the initiative was prompted by customer demand for transport from the provinces.

It follows a series of successful trials in Scotland last year.

Fred Olsen marketing director Nigel Lingard said: “This underlines our commitment to giving agents an additional tool to sell our cruises.

“Transfer to ports is an inherent aspect of all ex-UK cruising, and being able to offer a seamless service from coach pick-up to boarding is very important to us.”

The coach service is being operated by two transportcompanies.

Battersby Silver Grey Coaches runs services from Scotland, the north of England and the Midlands, while Horseman Coaches runs them from Wales and the southwest of England.

Prices start from ú30 return.
