Sabre rolls out e-ticket ‘saver’

SABRE has introduced a new system that will allow travel agents to save customers’ money by tracking unused electronic tickets.

The development is free to all agencies using Sabre and will also save users’ time in tracking and reclaiming unused travel pounds. For agencies without the technology, tracking unused e-tickets is a very time-consuming manual task.

The global distribution system supplier says during testing of the service, agencies identified saving clients thousands of pounds in unused tickets during one test week.

BTI UK Hogg Robinson already employs a similar system with British Airways to ensure the carrier’s business travel clients do not lose out over unused tickets. The travel management company runs monthly checks on tickets and, if unused, credits clients’ accounts.
