US AIRWAYS has recruited a new European management team in preparation for launching an expanded transatlantic network.
The new team is made up of sales and marketing manager Europe Richard Mortimore, customer service manager Europe Eric Mathieu, and business manager Europe Bill Clark.
The trio will report to US Airways vice-president international Mark Schwab.
Mortimore was previously SAS sales and marketing manager. Mathieu is a former country manager for US Airways in the Netherlands and Clark was most recently financial controller for Britannia Airways.
Schwab said the new department was needed as USAirways will expand its European operations this year. It launches Gatwick-Charlotte flights in June and has applied to start Pittsburgh services from Gatwick.
