New booking tool allows customers to check reservation details on Sabre site

SABRE has introduced a new booking tool to allow customers to check their reservation details on the Internet once they have booked their trip with an agent.

Travellers can visit the company’s site at www.sabre.com to check the details of their trip that an agent has booked for them through the Sabre global distribution system.

Customers of Travelocity, the on-line travel agency owned by Sabre, and users of the Sabre Business Travel Solution, the travel purchasing system for business clients, can also use the facility.

After a reservation is confirmed using the Sabre GDS, a traveller simply logs onto the site, clicks a button called on-line trip review, then inputs a reservation number and last name. Air, car and hotel reservations they have made or have been made for them will then be displayed. The site also provides access to travel information such as weather reports and driving maps.

Sabre Europe’s vice-president Bob Teerink said: “With this innovation, travellers who use any part of the Sabre system can instantly view changes made to their itineraries, confirm departure dates or determine the proximity between their hotel and a favourite restaurant.”

The Travel Professionals operations director Mick Gibbs said: “All our customers have welcomed this product and most of them have used it.”
