Agents to compare performance
ARTAC agents attending this year’s conference will hear how their performance compares with their new colleagues at Thomas Cook.
The results of the survey will be presented by Malcolm Preston, a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and will be the first time such data has been revealed.
ARTAC chairman Colin Heal said:”We fare exceptionally well to other independents, and though it is unlikely we will outperform a chain like Thomas Cook, it was be fascinating to see the comparison.”
He added that the consortium should be able to improve profits and secure better promotional deals with Thomas Cook as new partners.
Among delegates will be Hendersons Travel, the six-strong Borders-based agency that quit Fairway to join ARTAC. Joint managing director Bill Anderson said the conference will give them an early opportunity to see how a consortium works with a multiple.
“It will be a steep learning curve for us,” he said.
“We joined the consortium because it is established, professional and can give us better deals,” he said.
