NORWICH TO TARGET LONG-HAUL AIRLINES


Norwich Airport is attempting to attract long-haul carriers. This would boost its duty-free sales to non-EU countries and avoid it having to increase airline charges to make up for any reduction in duty-free revenue.


BAA SET TO INCREASE LANDING FEES BY 15%


BAA has been given permission by the Civil Aviation Authority to increase its landing fees by 15% over the next two years at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted to compensate for the loss of duty-free sales. BAA says it is waiting to see whether duty-free is abolished before increasing rates.


LIVERPOOL AND LUTON TO EXPAND RETAIL OUTLETS


Liverpool and Luton airports are expanding the number of retail outlets and catering facilities in their terminals in the hope that passengers will still want to shop before they travel, even if the goods are more expensive than previously.
