Fed-up of listening to Carpenter’s rantings

I WONDER if there are many people out there who, like myself, are beginning to become a little tired of the constant pontificating of Todd Carpenter of the Travel Trust Association.

He continually exhibits a self-righteous attitude while at the same time trying to score points against any franchise organisations/consortia that he may consider to fall into the ‘rival’ category.

In his most recent letter (Travel Weekly March 29), he accuses a few such bodies of not being truly independent due to the fact they areinherently commercialorganisations.

Simply another attempt by him to further the Travel Trust Association cause.

While I would not necessarily take issue with this particular viewpoint, depending of course upon one’s definition of independence, how does he have the audacity to suggest his organisation is above reproach?

Apart from any otherconsiderations, it is fairlycommon knowledge that TTAinsists that their members utilise the services of theirpreferred insurance company.

The TTA’s preferred insurer may or may not offer the most competitively priced premiums given that travel insurance commission provides a not insignificant contribution towards the association’s revenue.

Todd Carpenter’s lastparagraph suggests thatmembers of these otherorganisations do not enjoy the same level of freedom as a member of the TTA.

Such a suggestion isridiculous in the extreme.
