Early success for CD-ROM training

THE Travel Training Company’s latest CD-ROM targeted at new entrants to the travel trade has been hailed a success by one of its first buyers, British Airways Travel Shops.

According to BA Travel Shops, the CD-ROM helps new staff to familiarise themselves with customer types.

BA Trainer Susie Atkinson said: “The best part is the profiles where you learn what type of people go on what sort of holidays. Staff come from the airline part of the business and haven’t worked on holidays before and this really helps them.”

The CD-ROM was launched in November. There are two discs in the package, which costs ú79.

The first deals with general travel geography such as continents, oceans, climates and time zones.

The second presents a detailed fact file on different European countries and the US.

Tourist options in these destinations are listed as well as main gateways, key sites, currencies, climates and languages.
