Soult to head new combined air operation
TERRY Soult is to head the combined operations of Flying Colours Airlines and Caledonian Airways following the merger of parent companies Thomas Cook and Carlson Leisure Group.
Former Caledonian chief executive Rick Conley, who was also tipped for the top job at the joint operation, has been made deputy chief executive UKTravel and will be responsible for strategic development across the business.
Soult becomes managing director of Thomas Cook’s UKairline division and will report to Thomas Cook UK and Ireland chief executive Nigel Hards.
Hards said a decision on dropping one of the airline brands, keeping both or unveiling a new name would be made once the merger was completed.
