DOME RATE SET AT 9%


Agents will be paid 9%commission on ticket sales for the Millennium Dome when they go on sale on September 22. Entry to the dome will cost £20 for adults, £18 for senior citizens and £16.50 for students and children.


Group rates are also available and include a family of five ticket at £57.


Agents will be able to sell accommodation packages to the Millennium Dome from April 6 when a dedicated trade call centre opens. The call-centre number is 0870 2402401.


STRIKE TO HIT IBERIA


A strike by pilots starting on Friday is set to disrupt Iberia’s flights from the UK. The action is expected to last through the Easter weekend. Pilots claim Iberia has reneged on pay agreements settled last October. The industrial action coincides with the final stages of Iberia’s privatisation plan, which should lead to the carrier being sold-off in June.


RYANAIR TICKET SALE


Ryanair has launched a Scandinavian ticket sale to beat off competition from SAS and KLM UK/Braathens. Tickets lead in at £39.99 one way to Oslo and Stockholm from Stansted.


LUFTHANSA IN THAI BID


Lufthansa and partner Singapore Airlines are set to take a 23% stake in state-owned Thai Airways. A sale date will be announced in the summer. Qantas is also in the running, but Lufthansa’s links with Thai through Star Alliance are expected give it an advantage.


AIR FRANCE OPENING


Air France is to open a European call centre in London next month. The centre in Wembley goes live on April 19.
