STENA Line will announce tomorrow record carryings on its Harwich-Hook of Holland service for last year.
The ferry operator carried 1m passengers and 234,000 cars on the route – an increase of 9% and 20% respectively.
These are the best results since it launched an HSS fast-ferry between the UK and Holland three years ago.
Stena said the number of bookings through the trade increased 18% and that its market share to Holland rose 29% to 60.6%.
Head of UK sales Heli Salmons said: “We put these figures down to ever-increasing awareness of our service and competitive prices.”
Salmons expects carryings to grow for 2000 following the Board of Netherlands advertising campaign.
