Hogan back to BM after year at Forte

FORTEworldwide sales director James Hogan is returning to British Midland as chief operating officer on April 6.

He was previously the carrier’s service director before moving to the hotel chain last April. The 42-year-old has also worked for Hertz International in sales and marketing roles.

British Midland group managing director Austin Reid said Hogan’s appointment to the new post was designed to ensure the carrier was prepared for planned expansion.

The airline launches new routes to Moscow and Budapest this summer and is building up network expansion with partner Lufthansa.

Hogan’s role at British Midland covers customer service, commercial, sales and marketing divisions at the airline.

Hogan’s replacement at Forte is Peter Cardnell, but he will have a new role of worldwide managing director of marketing and sales. He has been with Forte since 1973, most recently as regional managing director Middle East and West Asia for Forte’s Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts brand.
