n egypt makes return to NCL itineraries



NorwegianCruise Line is scheduling stops in Egypt in cruising itineraries again after dropping the country in 1997 following the Luxor massacre. NCL’s 1,760-capacity Norwegian Dream will call at Port Said on November 12 and 20 as part of its autumnMediterranean cruiseprogramme. Marketing manager Jim Millward said NCL will offer shoreexcursions to Luxor. “We are going back because there is demand for Egypt. The Egyptian authorities have assured us it is safe.”The Egyptian section of the Mediterranean cruise is part of the Rome-Athens-Rome Ancient Holylands package which starts on November 4.



n islington centre to host germany show



The third annual Germany Travel Show will be held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, on June 8. More than 100 German travel product suppliers and 500 visitors are expected to attend. The German National Tourist Office reported a 7.2% rise in overnight stays by British visitors to just over 3m between January and November 1998.



n queens moat houses to replace systems



Queens Moat Houses is replacing its fivereservation systems with a single system to give agents and customersreal-time availability.The process is expected to take around two years to complete, involving all non-franchised properties, and was announced as QMH reported a 71% increase in pre-tax profit to ú33.5m for the year to January 3.
