BAH managers pay price of tougher market conditions

BRITISHAirways Holidays has announced 25 management redundancies, including head of overseas and purchasing Nick Wood, after 10 years with the company.

Managing director Roger Heape said the operator had been forced to cut costs to protect itself in the competitive market following recent consolidation.

BAH has merged its overseas and purchasing departments into the two commercial divisions of Worldwide, and America and Europe, which has led to Wood’s role disappearing.

Under the new structure, his responsibilities will be taken on by Maxine Gayler for America and Europe and Stephen Rhodes for Worldwide

Sales and marketing has been streamlined and operations and customer service areas have been centralised, rather than being split between worldwide and America and Europe.
