n carlson buys out global travel computers



Carlson Wagonlit Travel has bought out Global TravelComputer Services, a Toronto-based maker of transactionprocessing and accounting software for travel agencies.Carlson, already a part-owner of Global Travel, acquired the remaining stakes in the company from Air Canada, Thomas Cook, Sears Travel and two other private entities. It plans to market the software globally.



n woodside travel chooses amadeus as supplier



Woodside Travel Trust has made Amadeus its preferredcomputer reservations system supplier in the US. The two aim to develop ties in Asia, the Middle East and Africa.



n novotel offers business traveller discounts



Novotel has launched an offer called Welcome Back toNovotel, offering weekend discounts for business travellers who stay in its UK properties during the week. Weekend stays must include a Saturday and must be a minimum of two nights; the offer lasts until December 31. Rates start at ú49.50 per night for a family of four with English breakfast.
