Car Hire Direct eases US rules

UNDER21-year-old visitors to the US who want to hire a car but are prohibited by age are being offered the services of London-based Car Hire Direct.

The firm, which takes 30% of its bookings through the trade and wants to boost that figure, has introduced a car rental service to young people travelling to Florida.

The company claims to be the first in Europe to offer those aged between 18-25 the opportunity to rent cars in Orlando and Miami. Many firms do not offer vehicle hire to under-25s.

Car Hire Direct has also arranged for young renters to leave $100 cash instead of a credit card as deposit, providing they have prepaid in the UK.
