ABTA is considering whether to raise the subscription limit for tour operators.
Operators with a turnover of more than ú500,000 currently pay ú23 for every additional ú100,000 to a maximum of ú36,050. But the Tour Operators’ Council is looking at raising the cap by the rate of inflation. Chief executive Ian Reynolds said: “The limit has not moved over several years and with the consolidation in the industry we feel the time is right to increase it.”
He said the cap would still be under ú50,000.
