Flydrive Itineraries


Adelaide-Alice Springs: 958 miles


Day 1: fromAdelaide, travel north on Highway 1 through the wine region of the Clare Valley. Overnight.


Day 2: drive to Port Augusta (310km/3hrs 30mins) and join Route 87 north – the Stuart Highway – to Coober Pedy (540km/7hrs). Overnight.


Day 3:: drive to Erldunda (484km/6hrs) where the highway branches off to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Ayers Rock, (262km/3hrs). Overnight.


Day 4: north to Alice Springs (199km/2hrs) or join the Mereenie LoopRoad that links Ayers Rock and Alice Springs via the Western MacDonnell Ranges and Kings Canyon. To travel on the Mereenie Loop Road drivers need a Mereenie Loop Pass obtained in advance from Kings Canyon Lodge, Hermanssburg.
