Tropical Locations lifts Hong Kong promotions

Tropical Locations has launched a separate Hong Kong brochure after negotiating special deals with hoteliers.

The six-page brochure called The Hong Kong Collection features seven hotels with discounts of up to 45%. The Kowloon Hotel, for example, which normally leads in at ú665 for three or four nights in April, is now available for ú498. Also featured in the brochure is The Great Eagle, formerly the Rennaisance Kowloon, an upmarket hotel a short walk from the Star ferry.

The prices, based on flights with Cathay Pacific and British Airways, cover round trip transfers and free sightseeing. The BA flights include free domestic flights.

Tropical Locations managing director David Kevan said the former British colony is slowly regaining its popularity among visitors with occupancy rates currently running at around 70%. “For any other Asian country that would be good but Hong Kong was used to rates of 95%,” said Kevan.

He added that bookings to Asia generally were showing a significant increase on 1998. “Anything combined with Bali is doing well,” said Kevan.
