Thomson has reorganised its management structure following the acquisition of Simply Travel and Magic Travel Group.
The newly formed Independent Holidays Group has created the role of managing director for the Holiday Cottages and Boats business due to the larger portfolio.
The position has been filled by Steve Foster, previously commercial director for the whole group, who will report directly into group managing director Peter Chappelow.
“Peter will be spending more time with the other businesses so we needed someone to concentrate on moving our core business forward,”said Foster.
Holiday Cottages Group operations director Peter Gidley has been appointed development director for the whole group, also reporting toChappelow.
Geoff Cowley and Nick Rudge will report to Foster. Cowley, who was previously marketing director for Country Holidays and Blakes, has become managing director of European self-drive.
Rudge, who was English Country Cottages marketing director, has been appointed managing director of Country Holidays and English Country Cottages. Blakes managing director Roger Peverett becomes managing director of Blakes Holidays in Britain and Blakes Boating Holidays, reporting into Foster.
