THOMAS Cook has postponed plans to open a London-based office for its timeshare business after its staff numbers doubled.
Staff were temporarily based in Berkeley Square, central London, and are now situated in Peterborough.
The firm had planned to have a timeshare office in Henrietta Street, Covent Garden, but since the launch of the business in June last year staff numbers have gone from nine to 18.
A Thomas Cook spokeswoman said the intention was still to have a London presence and a search was being made for larger offices.
She added staff numbers were expected to rise further as Thomas Cook hopes to expand its timeshare business by adding properties in ski resorts and cities to its current Mediterranean portfolio.
Properties are mainly five-star, but Thomas Cook is looking to add four-star andgood quality three-staraccommodation.
Meanwhile, Thomas Cook’s corporate London headquarters, in Berkeley Street, is moving to Midford Place at the beginning of the summer. Its Berkeley Street retail shop moves to St James’ Street.
