Inspirations: one and two-week bed-and-breakfast deals at the five-star Cidade de Goa Beach Resort in south Goa from £589 up to May 31. Two-week packages including a four-night Taste of India Tour are from £1,169.


Tours


Cox and Kings: 16-day Southern Trader itinerary costs from £1,995, including flights and bed and breakfast. Highlights take in the Marharja’s Temple in Madras, cruise along the backwaters of Kerula and a visit to Cochin, the “Venice of the East”.


Somak Holidays: nine-night North India Heritage tour from £1,423 including flights and bed and breakfast. Takes in Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Agra, Jaipur and return to Delhi for the flight to the UK.


Adventure


The Imaginative Traveller: features the Tribal Lands of Orissa, a 15-day tour, partly on foot, of the lush state of Orissa. Basic accomodation includes four nights in a jungle lodge and some camping. The price is £775 half board, excluding flights.


City/resort


Tradewinds: offers a six night tour of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur by chaffeur-driven private car. Based on flights with BA to Delhi, prices start at £1,149.


Somak: seven-night Glimpses of the South cities tour takes in Goa, Cochin, Coimbatore, Ooty, Bandipur, Mysore and Bangalore. Includes flights, bed and breakfast and a week’s resort stay in Goa, from £1,190 in March.


Manos: has a seven-night Cities and Temples tour as part of a 14-night package based on a charter flight into Trivandrum. Prices depend on accomodation but start at £844 for bed and breakfast. The first three nights and the last four are spent at Kovalam or Poovar beach resorts.
