GB Airways eyes commission cuts and performance pay

GBAirways is considering cutting basic commission and introducing an incentive programme similar to British Airways’ Performance Reward scheme.

Like other BA franchise carriers, GBAirways has so far continued to pay the traditional 9% commission.

But commercial director Peter Kenworthy said it was now evaluating its options in the light of commission cuts across Europe.

The airline could adopt partner BA’s PRS scheme but Kenworthy said: “It may be easier to do our own. We are looking at it.”

Kenworthy refused to say when changes would be made.

He said there was no pressure from BA to adopt PRS.
