Jamaica to benefit from revamped service

THE island of Jamaica will be the first Caribbean destination to benefit from British Airways’ revamped World Traveller service when it comes on line in March.

The company is spending ú150m on a revamp and will phase in the improved economy service over the next two years as it replaces its ageing DC10 fleet with Boeing 777s.

Between March and late summer this year, services to San Juan in Puerto Rico, Cancun, Grand Cayman and Nassau, Tobago and Cuba will all upgrade to the new World Traveller cabin.

BA corporate communications manager Gatwick/UK Regions, Laura De Vere, said “The new Boeing 777s give a 27% increase in capacity over the older DC10s which they replace.”
