Line unveils plans for new ship

SILVERSEA Cruises has announced the itinerary of its new luxury ship, which is due for launch in September 2000.

The vessel is being built in Genoa, and will be christened in Rome. It will then visit Greenwich in London, before crossing the Atlantic to start programmes in South America.

The new ship, and a second due to be launched in May 2001, will each have a capacity for 396 guests.

Silversea’s present ships, Silver Cloud and Silver Wind, both have a capacity of 296 passengers. The style and design of all the ships will be similar, and the price structure will be the same for each. The cruiseline has an option to order two additional ships for delivery in 2002 and 2003.
