British Midland: new aircraft will increase service range
Lufthansa/BM UK code hike
LUFTHANSA and British Midland have extended their codeshare agreement to take in domestic UK routes feeding Heathrow.
The German carrier will put its code on British Midland flights to Heathrow from Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds/Bradford, Edinburgh and Belfast. Dublin-Heathrow will also be covered.
Both carriers already codeshare on Heathrow-Cologne/Bonn-Dresden flights and Manchester and Birmingham to Dusseldorf.
Managing director Austin Reid the agreement extension was a minor improvement to the previous deal with Lufthansa.
British Midland is expected to codeshare on more Lufthansa routes from Heathrow this year. It may also operate some routes for the airline.
