Jeffreys steps down from Jersey Tourism role

JERSEY Tourism chief executive Elizabeth Jeffreys has blamed work commitments for stepping down from her role as Tourism Society chairman.

Jeffreys will swap roles with the society’s vice- chairman Graham Wason, who also serves as World Travel and Tourism Council vice-president, strategy and development.

“Trying to lead the society at the same time as heading up Jersey Tourism has proved too challenging for me to accomplish without lessening the quality standards I had set myself for both posts,” she said.

She was praised by her peers for standing down before the end of her three-year term of office, due to end July next year, and for her achievements within the society.
