Airport turns attention to security needs


MANCHESTERAirport is investing ú50,000 in speeding up transfers through security for its premium passengers.



Business and first-class ticket-holders will be able to use a dedicated channel called Fastlane from next month at all of the airport’s terminals.



Part of the money will be invested in new X-ray machines and refurbishing the terminal’s security areas.



A Fastlane logo will gradually appear in arrivals areas, car parks and around flight transfer desks. Manchester is also renaming its terminals on March 28. They will be called Terminal One, Terminal Two and Terminal Three British Airways and domestic.



n Air Kilroe has axed its daily service from Manchester to Galway because it is unable to offer more competitive prices and loads have suffered. Its Manchester-Teesside service remains at twice weekly.
