New Zealand lights way for Jetset

JETSET has predicted strong growth to New Zealand during 1999 as travellers flock to see in the new century.

The operator, launching its dedicated New Zealand brochure, is looking to exploit the belief that the country will be the first to witness the new millennium.

A new range of mix-and-match holidays, coach and rail journeys and excursions have been added to the programme on the back of the anticipated growth.

“We have concentrated on offering a more diverse range of tailor-made holidays for the independent travellers in 1999,” said head of marketing Roddie MacPhee.

New for ’99 are daily departures on a range of unescorted coach modules that can be bought individually or linked together. Prices start at ú213 for the four-day Bay of Islands return trip from Auckland. Individual activities and excursions have grown to 25 with tall ship sailing in the Bay of Islands and four-wheel driving on the dormant volcano of Mount Tarawera.

Lodge and holiday park accommodation has been introduced for the first time along with 36 hotels.
