SOME retailers have expressed concern over Inspirations’ “Funcational” concept, fearing that although staff may have a great time they would not learn anything of use in their jobs (Travel Weekly December 9 1998).
In reality the opposite is true; let’s look at a typical “Funcational”. It is generally three to four days duration with an 11am start. Activities will include shopping trips, beach trips, ‘Dine-a-rounds’, pub and club crawls, and excursions to local attractions and activities featured by Inspirations.
Our attitude is that agents are adults and that we should treat them as such.
We are banning the traditional hundreds of property visits, early morning starts and compulsory attendance on trips.
Inspirations believes that agents need to see the resort as the customer does in order to make recommendations and influence the customer’s holiday choice.
