TUMBLING prices in Australia’s five-star hotel range could boost agent’s earnings as customers are tempted to upgrade, according to long-haul specialist Travel 2.
Sales director David Holland said prices have fallen by up to 30% enabling operators to offer cut-price deluxe accommodation.
“This is good news for agents because clients who would previously have gone for budget hotels will be happy to spend a few pounds more for five-star accommodation,” he said. “This will enable agents to earn more with each booking.”
In its new 1999 brochure combining Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, the operator has introduced the Great South Pacific Express rail journey from Sydney to Cairns.
