AUSTRALIAN chain FlagChoice Hotels will switch over to the Choice Hotels International reservations system fully on April 1.
The group, previously known as Flag International, has been gradually transferring its 500 properties in Australia and New Zealand over to the Choice system since last June when it signed an alliance with the US-based franchise group.
Under the deal, most of the Flag properties will be rebranded under one of Choice brands – Clarion, Quality and Comfort.
The rest will stay under the Flag name, which is a midmarket brand but without some of the services and facilities provided by Choice’s midmarket brand Quality. Flag is also retaining its Heritage brand, which represents historic, country house hotels which do not fit into any of the other brands.
