ThePort of Seattle has approved plans for a $12.7m cruise ship terminal at its Bell Street Pier. Essential facilities are expected to be complete in time for Norwegian Cruise Line to base Norwegian Sky there for the 2000 Alaska season.



n swan hellenic cuts cost of river holidays



Swan Hellenic has reduced the prices of selected river cruises by 20% providing bookings are received before the end of February. Two 11-day cruises on the Danube, departing on July 1 and 11, now start from ú2,024 per person. A 12-day Waterways ofRussia cruise now costs from ú2,280 per person.



n airtours reduces caribbean cruise price



Airtours has slashed the price of a forthcoming 20-night Caribbean cruise from ú1,599 to ú949 per person. The cruise on Sunbeam departs Montego Bay in Jamaica on April 11, and calls at destinations including Antigua, St Lucia and Barbados.



n MSC offers savings on march rio cruise



Mediterranean Shipping Cruises has reduced the lead-in price for an 18-night cruise from Rio de Janerio to Genoa to ú1,299 – a saving of ú576. The voyage departs on March 7.
