Why are we paying for this extravagance?

At a time when inflation is at its lowest, around 2.5%, I am appalled at the level of expenses claimed by ABTApresident Steven Freudmann.

More importantly the chairmen of Travel Agents’ Council and Tour Operators’ Council have also enjoyed large increases in expenditure, of 40% and 28% respectively. How can the elected members of our association justify spending so much of our money this year?

I am sure most readers will agree that we as members have not seen such an increase in benefits for being members. Why do we have to pay for such extravagance?

Might I point out to the president, TOC and TAC that we remain members because we wish to and not, as a few years ago, because we need ABTA to trade.

I am beginning to question the value of belonging to ABTA and am looking forward to the day when ARTAC Worldchoice starts to investigate providing its members with bonding along with all the other excellent services this consortium gives in return for its membership fee.
