NEWLY merged direct booking specialist Team Lincoln is planning to open call centres in Manchester and Glasgow.
The announcement follows a 50:50 merger between Team Travel and Lincoln Travel, which has 270 staff in total.
Team Lincoln managing director Neil Curnow, who is looking for sites in Manchester and Glasgow, plans to recruit at least 30 staff for each centre. A further 40 staff are being taken on at the company’s offices in Newcastle, Peterlee, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Leeds.
The company’s six-strong call centre in Guisborough, which specialises in Florida bookings, is being doubled in size and moved to Middlesbrough, where team Lincoln owns a suitable site. Curnow said the company preferred to open new centres rather than expand the premises it has. “Our staff are critical to our business. It works best with about 50 staff – if you get any bigger the manager can lose control,” he said.
