Who’s Doing What for the Millennium


Club 18-30: is offering 4,000 millennium party packages to Ibiza for die-hard clubbers. The price of £449 per person buys three nights of non-stop partying in Ibiza from December 30, 1999-January 2 2000. The deal includes flights from Manchester, Gatwick or Birmingham, accommodation and some special four-course meals.


The Imaginative Traveller: a camel safari to view the Egyptian pyramids at midnight on New Year’s Eve is the highlight of the company’s Millennium Tour. Clients will spend Christmas Eve in Jerusalem and Bethlehem and New Year’s Eve in Cairo. The tour costs and includes 11 nights’ hotel accommodation, most meals, all internal travel, entrance fees and the services of an Egyptologist. Flights from the UK are not included.


Cox and Kings: a tour of Peru and Ecuador features a three-night cruise around the remote Galapagos Islands with a special New Year’s Eve dinner. The tour also takes in the capital of Peru, Lima, the Inca site of Machu Picchu and the capital of Ecuador, Quito. Prices to be confirmed.


London Travel Service: is offering millennium breaks in the capital from £152 for three nights’ accommodation with bed-and-breakfast at a two-star hotel. Free with every booking is a swipe card that will entitle the holder to 50% off entry to major London attractions.


Style Holidays: Madeira and the Algarve feature alongside Florida and the Caribbean in Style Holidays’ 12-page Millennium brochure. Prices to the Algarve start from £549 per person for a 14-night stay at the Oura Aparthotel in Praia da Oura. The deal is based on four people sharing a one-bedroom apartment on a self-catering basis. Flights leave Gatwick on December 27 1999.


Paris Travel Service: has put together a Millennium New Year package for £301 per person, which includes three nights’ accommodation in a budget hotel, and return travel by Eurostar. Highlight of the trip is a River Seine dinner cruise with champagne and on-board entertainment.


Disneyland Paris: is offering a range of packages for the millennium, with special New Year’s Eve dinners, unlimited access to the theme park and continental breakfast. Its two-night Fantasy Prestige 2000 package costs £879 per adult, based on two adults and a child sharing a room in the Disneyland Hotel. The child price is £234 and does not include a New Year’s Eve dinner. Prices include return travel on Eurostar.
