n operators cut cost of travel to amsterdam



Operators have cut the cost of mid-week travel to Amsterdam. British Airways Holidays isoffering ú10 off per person for travel between Monday and Thursday; Travelscene has three nights for the price of two deals at a range of hotels; and Crystal Holidays offers a discount of ú24 on a two-night deal if clients travel in the middle of the week.



n board lists hotels to solve capacity problems



Amsterdam’s Tourism Board has published a list offorthcoming hotel developments in the capitalfollowing complaints of a lack of available accommodation at weekends. The listing includes new hotels and extensions to existing properties and isavailable on request from the tourist board’s dedicated trade line on 0171-802 8105.



n Magic travel group packages opera deals



Opera buffs can now pre-book tickets for events in Amsterdam with Magic Travel Group. Tickets start at around ú40 per head. The company also offers apre-bookable limousine service for transfer from the airport for ú41 per car each way.



n hoseasons adds two new parks to ’99 brochure



Hoseasons Holidays has added two new Dutch holiday parks to its Holidays in Holland,Germany and Belgium 1999 brochure. They areStroombroek close to theMonferland nature reserve, near the border with Germany and Klein Vink near the historicvillage of Arcen, famous for its castle and gardens.




n kirker tempts agents with short-break prize



Kirker Holidays is offering agents who sell the mostshort-break holidays to the city by the end of the month aweekend break for two people in Amsterdam, worth ú1,000.



n Scansea to increase capacity on ijmuiden route



Scandinavian Seaways plans to increase capacity on its route from Newcastle to the Dutch port of Ijmuiden near Amsterdam. The King of Scandinavia will operate from April-September, adding an extra 153 sailings to the route.
