n Gran dorado reports 69% hike in UK visitors



Gran Dorado has reported a 69% increase in UKvisitors during 1998 to its sixholiday parks. The number of visitors reached more than 28,750 and thecompany has set a target of 37,500 for ’99. Gran Dorado attributed the growth to the opening of a UKoffice and an on-going marketing campaign.



n quality complex sets trafford opening date



The Quality Hotel Manchester in the Tafford Park business complex opens on February 17. The ú5m hotel is 25% owned by Manchester United and 75% by private investors led by developer Peter Roberts. Rates start from ú69.50 per night.



n Forte packageslondon two-night deals



Forte is running a series of two-night package breaks at a selection of its London properties from ú64 per person. It is offeringSightseeing Breaks,Theatre Breaks and Monet Breaks until March 1.



n Kempinski takes over german property



Kempinski Hotels and Resorts is taking over the management of a boutique hotel in Halle, Germany from March 1. TheKempinski Hotel andCongress Rotes Ross Halle will be Kempinski’s 11th property in the country.



n sheraton and westin boost commission rate



Sheraton and Westin Hotels is increasing agencycommission to 15% for any new business conducted before the end of this month, covering a minimum of 25 room nights perbooking.
