Princess names latest grand-class cruiser

PRINCESS Cruises has officially named its new cruise ship Ocean Princess in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The ship was named by Ryan O’Neal and Ali MacGraw, the stars of the film Love Story. The 77,000-ton 1,950 passenger vessel is the fourth in a series of grand-class ships operated by the US-based cruiseline.

It will spend this spring operating seven-night cruises in the southern Caribbean before transferring to Alaska for the summer season from May to September.

Ocean Princess was built in Italy, and the ship is pictured here at Gibraltar while on its way to Florida.
