SEAFRANCE has decided to launch super apex ferry fares rather than introduce a fluid pricing structure on its Dover-Calais ferry route.
The new super apex prices start from £89 for a five-day return and £169 for a standard return on ferry journeys taken this year, provided bookings are made before April 5.
SeaFrance managing director Robin Wilkins said the company was not in favour of fluid pricing. “The main problem with fluid pricing is that the consumer has no idea of the maximum price they could pay or, in fact, what saving they might make against any promotional fare,” he said.
“Seafrance has a published tariff which is produced each year and while we run a number of special offers and promotions throughout the year, our customers can always obtain fixed prices.”
