CADOGAN Holidays has poached Mundi Color general manager Tony Maniscalco to be its sales and marketing director.
Maniscalco, who has been with the London-based Spanish specialist for eight years, seven of them in his current role, left the company last week and will start at Southampton-based Cadogan immediately.
He has been appointed to help Cadogan forge closer relationships with independent agents and use his knowledge of the Spanish market to help establish the operator’s inaugural Canaries programme for winter 1999/2000.
“This is not a question of me actively looking to leave Mundi Color,” said Maniscalco. “Cadogan is an expanding operation and it approached me with an offer I really couldn’t refuse. Mundi Color has also quadrupled business in the last few years and has increased its consumer awareness. I have accomplished what I set out to achieve.”
Cadogan managing director Gary David said Maniscalco’s primary role will be to build relationships with key independent agents. “We are also expanding in Spain and Portugal and Tony has the expertise in these areas,” he added.
Maniscalco is expected to be replaced at Mundi Color by former Allegro Holidays and Bluebird Express executive director Richard Wiersum.
